AES-256 Encription

By default, files compressed and password protected in 7z format will be encrypted using AES-256.

If the selected format is Zip, Zip 2.0 legacy encryption will be used.

Mac OS X, at the time of 10.9 Mavericks, is not compatible with Zip files encrypted using AES-256.

Since Keka 1.0.5 r792 you can enable Zip AES cypher (which comes disabled by default) writing this code in the Terminal:

defaults write com.aone.keka ZipUsingAES TRUE

To disable it just change TRUE to FALSE:

defaults write com.aone.keka ZipUsingAES FALSE
